If so, Precision MicroFab is seeking an energetic and hands-on interdisciplinary engineer to support its operations fabricating microscopic parts and devices. We work on all sorts of cutting-edge projects such as space probes, brain computer interfaces, quantum computers and, someday, we might connect all three.

The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in learning the following:

  • Lasers, laser optics, and laser-material interactions.
  • Strong background with computers, software, and CAD file formats.
  • Generating code for motion control, galvos, machine vision, PLC’s, and robotics.
  • Laser micro-machining and micro-welding system design, construction, and service.
  • Familiarity with electrical control wiring, and electronics.
  • Comfortable with microscopes, laser instrumentation and other inspection tools.
  • Engage directly with clients and self-manage projects with good written, verbal and video conferencing skills.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to get projects done on time.
  • Hands-on, real-life, problem solving for fun and lots of profit.

The candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering although Mechatronics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Material Sciences majors will also be considered.
